Although blockchain was originally created to support the trading of Bitcoin Cryptocurrency in 2008, its reach has expanded significantly, with many even hailing it as “the future of the internet.” This revolutionary technology has been employed by numerous industries across the world, and proven to be a notable application to the clean energy sector.

By now you have probably heard that Power2Peer’s platform is “blockchain-secured,” but you might still be wondering what this descriptor actually means. Fundamentally, blockchain is a shared, encrypted, distributed ledger that supports transparent and secure peer-to-peer transactions without the need for third party verification. The blockchain…

The coronavirus pandemic has had a momentous impact on all industries across the world, including the renewable energy sector. However, unlike many other markets, the pandemic actually had a positive influence on the development of clean energy. According to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Renewable Energy Market Update 2021, “renewables were the only energy source for which demand increased in 2020 despite the pandemic, while consumption of all other fuels declined.” Specifically, renewable capacity additions rose by 45% in 2020 to a total of 280 gigawatts (GW), which represented the largest year-on-year increase since 1999.

In the face of the…

The popularity of electric vehicles (or EVs) has grown rapidly in recent years, making the vision of an all-electric future seem all the more tangible. According to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Global EV Outlook 2021, a record-breaking three million new electric cars were registered in 2020. Even more impressive is the fact that this market was able to sustain strong momentum despite the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Although global car shares dropped 16%, EV registrations increased 41% from the previous year.

As their name suggests, EVs rely on electricity rather than fossil fuels to power their…

This year Power2Peer has had the opportunity to participate in both the Clean Tech Open Cohort and Mass Challenge as a Finalist. We’ve learned from the experience as we move forward as a clean energy startup. Here are some questions answered by the Power2Peer team about our experience.

I understand Power2Peer was part of both the Clean Tech Open 2020 Cohort and Mass Challenge Finalist 2020. What was your experience doing both the accelerators in parallel?

Yes, it was very challenging. Both accelerators were so similar and yet different in the way they ran the program. Both had Mentors matched…

Hello Friends of Power2Peer!

We hope all of you are keeping safe during these times.

At Power2Peer, we understand reducing carbon emissions and conserving the health of our planet is a community and worldwide effort.

As such, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate SunDensity! They are a clean energy startup producing Photonic Smart Coatings (PSC™) for utility solar power producers that improve the solar output by 20% more than other coatings for solar panels. As you may know, SunDensity was selected to participate in this year’s Luminate Start-Up competition — luminate.org.

The SunDensity Team has worked exceptionally…

I hope all of you are keeping safe form COVID 19 virus. The shut-down of numerous businesses has delayed our progress with the P2P business. Despite delays we have to make progress towards following key-milestones:

  • The P2Pconnect app is in progress and we are going to do our first testing in July/August — 2020. Looking to be part of the testing — let us know.
  • We have completed the basic software architecture design of Clean Energy Marketplace
  • We completed the SDN controller demonstration.
  • Rajeev Agarwal a veteran entrepreneur and business executive has joined the Power2Peer team as our VP Finance.

Social distancing is slowly becoming a new norm. At Power2Peer, we continue to work on our P2P connect project. With more determination and belief that the planet needs a sustainable exchange of energy now.

The P2PConnect Blockchain Platform brings clean energy producers and consumers communities together through secure blockchain platform technology. Consumers will have a choice. At present, consumers can only buy energy from a single energy provider that dictates the price. Consumers don’t have many options at present. If you look at your bill, you are not only paying for the energy but also other charges such as delivery…

With the advent of this pandemic, we are reminding our investors and supporters that we care. At P2P, we are conducting all our business and meetings online. The technology that we are using to create P2P marketplace exchange for energy providers and consumers enables us to keep our staff, researchers, and company directors safe from this pandemic. We continue to focus on our P2P’s viability to control solar power generation systems remotely via cloud computing systems. Now is the time to think of alternate energy reliance. Many conventional energy providers need large scale workforce such as power operators, line workers…

According to Al Jazeera, “Several thousand took to the streets to protest Climate Change under Greta Thunberg in Brussels, last Friday.” The question is, why aren’t people and the government outraged or in a panic over climate change as they have with the spread of Corona Virus? Climate change has caused unprecedented destruction and deaths every year, and the attention it needs has been lacking. There has been a lot of talks but dismal action to climate change. The Philippines islands sinking, Ice caps melting, the Australian Wildfire, Severe droughts in the horn of Africa, 12 million displaced due to…
